Safety commission members appointed

PESHAWAR, Sept 17: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has appointed six member of the provincial assembly as members of Provincial Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission.
A statement issued by the home and tribal affairs department here the other day said that the MPAs were appointed with immediate effect following their nomination by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar.
It said that people should approach the members of the commission -- Amjad Ali, Shah Mohammad Khan, Saleh Mohammad, Munawar Khan, Naseem Hayat and Meher Taj Roghani -- about matters pertaining to public safety and complaints against police.
Meanwhile, the home department has once again invited the attention of provincial police officer towards important decisions of the third special cabinet meeting to contain sale of pre-registered SIMs in open market.
The home department said that law enforcement agencies should ensure that vital information were provided on time to the official spokesperson of the provincial government for media briefing to avoid embarrassment.
