State-of-the-art: Police to be equipped with mobile phone tracking 

PESHAWAR:The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the acquisition of a state-of-the-art mobile phone tracking system for police and other law enforcement agencies in the province at an initial cost of Rs200 million. “It is a computerized and state-of-the-art technology which is a must in the war on terror. The primary tool for terrorists in Pakistan as well as in Afghanistan these days is the mobile phone,” he said. Train ride to promote tourism in KP
PESHAWAR, Oct 3: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) will arrange a train ride for people from Peshawar to Attock Khurd on weekends to promote tourism in the province, according to a press release.
TCKP in collaboration with Pakistan Railways took people from different walks of life on an ‘innovative’ train ride from Peshawar to the rich heritage site Attock Khurd the other day, the release said.

Restructuring of oil company approved
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the KP government will exploit and utilise the natural resources on the welfare of the masses. Presiding in a meeting in Islamabad on Thursday, the chief minister approved restructuring the administrative framework of government owned Oil& Gas Company as well as the Pakhtun-khwa Hydel-power Development Organisation (PHYDO). 


Giving assurances: Information officers to operate sans political influence 

The Directorate of Information will not be allowed to turn into the government’s propaganda machine and it will not be politicised, claimed Minister for Information Shah Farman. Speaking during his visit to the directorate on Wednesday, Farman assured officers of the directorate full support in the dispensation of their professional duties, according to a handout issued from the office of the information director. Secretary Information Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Director Information Bahramand Jan and senior and junior officers were also present at the occasion, said the notification.

Chief Minister seeks detailed report on net hydel profits
PESHAWAR:Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed the high ups of Energy and Power department to prepare a detailed report of the outstanding dues of the provincial government against the federal government in the head of the net hydel profit so that case may be taken up with the federal government for the timely receipt of the same. He further directed the authorities to chalk out short, medium and long terms projects for harnessing the natural resources of the province including hydel, solar and wind energy to produce maximum electricity.

KP to introduce law on breast feeding: Yousafzai

PESHAWAR: Minister for Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has revealed his government is "introducing protection of breast feeding and child nutrition law" in the province. The cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will approve the draft already prepared for the purpose which will encourage breast feeding and discourage products in the province showing child feeding milk of multinational companies as better or substitute for breastfeeding.
