KARACHI: A NADRA report revealed a massive rigging in National Assembly constituency NA-256 polls held in May this year, SAMAA reported on Monday.
The report, submitted in an election tribunal, disclosed that only 6, 805 votes were found to be genuine out of a total of 84, 448 votes cast at 66 polling stations of the constituency comprising Faisal Cantonment, Shah Faisal Colony, Council-1 of the Model Colony in Malir Town and parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
MQM candidate Iqbal Muhammad Ali had secured victory from this seat.
His win was challenged by PTI’s Zubair Khan, who secured over 69,000 votes.
According to the report, 5, 893 people had cast their votes more than one time while 57, 642 votes had no record in the electoral list.
As many as 11, 343 votes were polled on illegal national identity cards, it added. – SAMAA
